A Bowl of Herbal Stew

I'm hopeful about the future
The future of the human race
I'm not too worried about my stature
Or conquering outer space

We must count our blessings
Though they may be only a few
We must add the seasonings
To a bowl of herbal stew

If you think your life is bad
Then take a tip or two
Just be happy and don't be sad
That's what you'll have to do

Life without love is suicide
Love without life is mad
You need someone you can confide in
In times when you've been had

Have you taken my advice....
..... and learnt a tip or two?
You don't want to be one of the flies
Circling a bowl of herbal stew.

Been There, Done That

I have been there;
I have done it.
I have flown into the air;
I have climbed out of the pit.

I was once a human doormat
Stepped on and abused
Now I can show them all that
Cowardice is a word which I do not use.

There is no shame or regret
In hiding away
Yet to others they are upset
They think I went astray

A dweeb I used to be
A fan of books and math
I'm now changed, as you all can see
But heck, I still study Macbeth.

So now all of you can see
My life with a tinge of fright
I want to meet up with my destiny
And do something right
